This carpal tunnel massage workshop will comprehensively cover the muscles in the hand and arm muscles involved in hand syndromes. Comprehensive coverage of multidisciplinary massage techniques. 

Will include the following:

  1. Review of hand and arm muscles involved in hand pain and discomfort.
  2. Trigger points and pain patterns for hand and arm muscles involved  in carpal tunnel syndrome.
  3. Review of hand and arm muscles involved in hand pain and discomfort.
  4. Trigger points and pain patterns hand and arm muscles involved in hand and pain discomfort.
  5. Swedish, myofascial release, NMT, cross fiber, skin rolling, and deep tissue techniques for hand and arm muscles involved in hand and pain discomfort.

The course focuses on:

  1. Increasing palpation skills.
  2. Body ergonomics for the therapist.
  3. Precise locations of trigger points.
  4. Client interaction for helping the client feel comfortable with massage in areas that feel invasive.

Presenter:  Retta Flagg graduated from the Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy in 1986. Since her introduction to massage was from a personal back injury, she focused on techniques that would work with injuries and chronic pain. She trained in Neuromuscular Technique with Bonnie Prudden, Paul St. John,and was certified in Neuromuscular Technique through the Chicago School of Massage Therapy.

While she is retired from actively performing massage she still enjoys teaching. She was an instructor in Neuromuscular Technique at the Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy for ten years. She is currently offering continuing education classes in Neuromuscular Technique, Muscle Energy Technique, palpation skills, and self empowerment techniques. Retta has served as an officer in the local unit of the American Massage Therapy Association as well as the state chapter.

Include check made payable to “Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy”, your name, address, email address, phone, name of the workshop and workshop dates. We will send you a confirmation in the mail.  If you are traveling by plane, please confirm the workshop with the school before buying your ticket.  Occasionally we do have to cancel workshops due to low enrollment.  If a workshop is cancelled for any reason our liability is limited to a return of the deposit paid.  If you cancel your participation in a workshop within 21 days of the workshop, there will be no refund if the deposit paid.  Cancellation earlier than 21 days before the workshop will incur a $25 processing fee.  The balance of your deposit will be refunded.
