Kansa Vatki Foot Massage is a powerful healthcare modality which has been practiced in India for centuries. This ancient treatment utilizes a small metal bowl and the use of ghee (clarified butter), and involves precise massage movements on the Ayurvedic marma and chakra points on the feet and lower limbs, to perform a powerful foot treatment that deeply revitalizes body energy and leaves the recipient’s entire body feeling cool, refreshed and relaxed. This treatment is ideal for those who spend long hours on their feet.
Kansa Vatki is rooted in the Ayurvedic tradition of working with pressure points to draw out excess heat and re-energize the internal organs through the nerve endings in the feet. The ancient Kansa Vatki bowl is made of three metals — zinc, tin and copper – and the combination of these metals in the bowl has a powerful effect on the body’s energies and is more effective than gold and silver on the various internal organs and energy channels.
In this two-day workshop, students will start by learning the basics of working with the three Ayurvedic doshas: you will learn the different zones of the foot and how they are linked to the Ayurvedic elements (Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Ether), and learn how the bodily doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha) correlate movement, bodily temperature, digestion, absorption, and assimilation. You will then learn and practice the precise massage techniques using ghee and the Kansa Vatki bowl as your massage tool. Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to provide a full 30 minute Kansa Vatki Foot Massage to their clients.
The cost of the workshop includes all the material provided to the student (Training Manual, Kansa Vatki Bowl). Each student will receive a Kansa Vatki bowl ($40 value) to use during the class and to take home to use in their practice.
Students have to bring: one set of sheets, baby wipes, a roll of paper towels.
