This class offers practical applications of acupuncture concepts in massage therapy. The emphasis is not on acupressure points but rather on the meridian pathway itself.  We will study fourteen meridians and learn associated muscles, organs, emotions and pathologies.  We will practice techniques to relieve pain, increase or decrease muscle tone, reduce stress and restore physical and energetic balance. Familiarity with meridians will enhance any bodywork practice. If you are interested in Chinese medicine or holistic bodywork, you will enjoy this class.

  • Meridian Massage and Tracing ↔ Meridian walking for acute pain
  • Massage techniques to treat meridian imbalance ↔ Exercises and self treatment
  • Using meridians in clinical assessment ↔ Alarm points in assessment and treatment
  • Muscles, organs, emotions and pathologies related to each meridian.
